Due to the way our laser technology works, unfortunately, it's not right for everyone. Our laser targets the melanin (pigment) in your hair follicles. This means that it needs clear differentiation between the colour of the hair and the colour of the skin around it to work safely and effectively. 

We can therefore only recommend its safe use for certain skin tones and hair colours. Use this chart as a guide but please note that this chart serves as a representation only and, due to varying screen colour renderings, the chart should not be used to determine suitability of the device.

We only recommend using our Tria 4X Hair Removal Laser on skin tones I to IV on the Fitzpatrick Scale and hair tones that are light brown or darker, not blonde, red, grey or white.**

Because the laser targets melanin in your hair follicles, it will be less effective on lighter hair colours such as blonde, red or white/grey as they do not have enough melanin to absorb the laser energy.
No, do not use your Tria 4X Hair Removal Laser on your genitals or private areas such as the anus. These areas may have more sensitive skin, a darker skin tone and/or a greater hair density. Using your Tria 4X Hair Removal Laser in these areas may cause serious skin injury. You can, however, use the Tria 4X Hair Removal Laser on your bikini line, which is the pubic hair visible beyond the boundaries of a swimsuit.
To unlock your Tria 4X Hair Removal Laser, you’ll need to hold the Skin Sensor in the base of your device against the area of skin you wish to treat. If your skin tone is safe to treat, the device will unlock and you can begin your treatment. If it is not safe to treat, the device will remain locked.
